If you have not gone to PN on your own and still have a Friday pass for the season, use the link below to sign-up for an added trip on Friday, February 9, 2024.
Dear CMS Ski and Rider Members,
There was a registration link this week and those who registered by Wednesday night at 9pm will be transported by school bus. There are only three buses this week. If you forgot to register your child you can drive them to and from PN to join us or save the lift ticket for another Friday night. WE WILL STAY AN HOUR LATER THIS WEEK. PLEASE GET YOUR CHILD AT 12:20am.
If you can’t join us this week and you have unused lift tickets next Friday would be a great time to go since there is no school. The weather does look a little more winterlike.
The forecast for Friday looks **abnormally warm** for this time of year. With that being said, please make sure you are prepared for all types of weather. It looks like it will rain towards the end of the night. Be sure to pack extra socks, gloves, etc.
We will host a **pizza party at 9pm** after everyone is done with their lessons. We will have pop, water and chips to go with the pizza. Please make sure your child has a substantial snack after school as 9pm is a long time to wait for dinner!
Want to win some cool prizes? Maybe 2 lift tickets w/rentals or $50 PN Debit Card? Well, it’s easy- just send Mrs. Ashley a quick email letting her know What CMS Ski and Rider Club means to you! Did you have fun? Did you meet new people? What was the best part? How could we make this club better? Tell her something funny, scary, crazy or unusual that happened during the ski club season. Please use at least 150-200 words. Please get them to her before Feb. 14 at 9pm. Winners will be announced in our newsletter and prizes delivered to your school.
**PAY TO PLAY bills are ready to be paid.** Please submit the $60 which helps cover the cost of the club. Without it we would not exist. Thank you for taking care of this in a timely manner.
We still have some **spots available for lodge chaperones and bus chaperones.** Please reach out to Brad (brad.combs@centerville.k12.oh.us) if you are interested. This will be first come first serve!
It is important to note that **kids should leave their bookbags on the bus** and not bring them into the East Lodge. However, the bus cannot be locked so any valuables will be at risk. We have very limited space inside the lodge, so we cannot store bags, shoes, etc. The tables we use should be for all members to take a break, eat, etc. They are not for all of their belongings. Please leave as much on the bus or rent a locker. We encourage kids to share lockers with other ski club members! There are cubbies in the East lodge that are free, use those if you’d like. This was still an issue this past Friday, we will not continue to watch your child’s belongings in the coming weeks.
Reminders:
1. If you have your own equipment, it is your responsibility to load it on the trailer at Watts, and unload it from the trailer BEFORE you get your lift ticket. If there is a group one can stay with the equipment while the other is in line, then jump in line when the other is at the window. If they want to store their ski/board bags or boot bag in the trailer they can. The trailer driver is NOT responsible for the items after the bus arrives.
2. Once you find your boots (ski or board) put your items in a locker. There are lockers by the equipment rental downstairs. PLEASE DO NOT dump your gear or clothes by the tables in the East Lodge. We are not responsible for lost items.
3. Quickly head out to lessons (out the doors and to the right) there are large flags marked LESSONS , once you have all of your gear.
4. Come off the hill at 10:30pm, return your equipment, grab your belongings, eat a snack if you’re hungry, use the restroom(the bus ride is over an hour!), and head toward the buses. If you have your own equipment, be sure to get it to the trailer before getting on the bus. Buses will start loading between 10:50- 11pm and we must pull out NO LATER THAN 11:15 pm.
5. PARENTS please be at Watts by 12:20 pm to pick up your child, we love what we do but it is a long day and we would like to get home. If you are late your child could lose bus privileges, set as many alarms as you need and keep your phone near. Also, answer any calls from #'s you may not recognize as it could be a chaperone because your child's phone died.

Dear CMS Ski and Rider Members,
As of now, we are set to go to Perfect North for our final week of skiing this upcoming Friday, February 9th! We plan to stay an hour later and celebrate the end of our season with a club pizza party! However, with the higher temperatures this week and the possibility of rain on Friday, Perfect North may be forced to suspend operations. Please be on the lookout for our Thursday newsletter in case we are forced to cancel on Friday. This date will not be made up.
Thank you to everyone for stepping up and helping with the club last Friday. We were understaffed and again our parents are the best! We cannot run this club without you and Friday night was a true test! We hope everyone enjoyed their night of skiing/riding and lessons. We encouraged our beginner/intermediate club members last Friday to show up at 6:50 for the 7pm lesson and our advanced/intermediate at 7:50 for the 8pm last Friday. We hope this helped with getting started quicker than the first week of lessons. This week will be our last lesson and we will run that same schedule . In the rare event we get to PN earlier we will encourage our beginners to get to lessons at 5:50 for 6pm lessons. One can hope!
Prize winners: Arthur Opfer, Joya Joshi, Ricky Hansen, Liam Smith, Everett Sommers, and Kelsey Van Huss.
PAY TO PLAY bills are ready to be paid. Please submit the $60 which helps cover the cost of the club. Without it we would not exist. Thank you for taking care of this in a timely manner.
This week, we will have candy guessing jars in the East lodge as our last prizes. We will also host a pizza party at 9pm, after everyone is done with their lessons. We will have pop, water and chips to go with the pizza. Please make sure your member has a substantial snack after school as 9pm is a long time to wait for dinner!
To ensure we use the correct # of buses and order the right amount of pizza please register for this event at https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/7vHeSZRdQf Feb 2-Feb 7. This event will be for club members only. We need everyone who plans to join us this Friday night to register by 9pm on Feb. 7th. Remember this club is supported by our schools and think of us when you go and cast your vote.
We still have some spots available for lodge chaperones and bus chaperones. Please reach out to Brad (brad.combs@centerville.k12.oh.us) if you are interested. This will be first come first serve!

Dear CMS Ski and Rider Members,
We had a great night at Perfect North on Friday. It was a bit slushy, but we made the best of the conditions. I believe most if not all lifts and trails were open. Plus, it was a very calm night with little lines to get on the lifts. We hope everyone was able to enjoy themselves on the slopes and in their lessons! We will work with PN for a more efficient way.

Dear CMS Ski and Rider Members,
What a rollercoaster ride Ohio weather is this year! We have never had to cancel 2 nights in any of the 19 years! And for completely different conditions! Fingers crossed we can get the next two planned nights in without any issues.
We are reaching out to the Central Office and the bus garage to see if there is a possibility of rescheduling one of our missed Fridays on Feb. 9th. Once we know if it is possible we will let you know. This will allow our members to get all three lessons in this season.
PAY TO PLAY bills are ready to be paid. Please submit the $60 which helps cover the cost of the club. Without it we would not exist. Thank you for taking care of this in a timely manner.
THIS WEEK- Unfortunately we will not be able to host our Annual Chili and Cheesecake Night this year. We have been trying to logistically work it out and we keep coming up short. We appreciate everyone’s willingness to help make this a successful event but have decided it is best to cancel. All the contributions that were dropped off will be available to our club members on the remaining Friday nights.
Thank you to everyone who put the time and effort into helping organize and to the cooks and everyone else who signed up to help with this tradition. Maybe next year we will try again or maybe it is time to try new things.

Dear CMS Ski and Rider Members,
Parents:
Just a reminder that we will be at Perfect North an hour longer this week. We will leave PN around 11:00PM. and arrive back at Watts between 12:15-12:30AM. Please be there at 12:20AM to pick up your child. Set an alarm if you think you will fall asleep. We love what we do but are anxious to get home after a long day.
If you signed up to bring something for Chili and Cheesecake Night, please have it at Watts by 9:15AM. Volunteers will be taking all food down to PN to set up at that time. If you want to deliver your own food please have it to PN by 6pm and have it hot and ready to go.
Chaperones:
Please encourage in-control skiing/riding and good behavior on and off the slopes. Please be present throughout the rental process and get kids guided to the correct terrain as well. We understand that chaperones cannot be with every student at every moment, but we just want to make sure that students know where and when they can seek help while here each night. Remind students that if they cannot find a chaperone, they can come to the inside ticket windows at any time for assistance or find help at the tables in the East lodge.

Friday is going to be cold!!! Dress in layers and come in to warm up regularly. Cover exposed skin. Most importantly, make sure to take a break and eat some of our wonderful food for Chili and Cheesecake night!
Since last week was canceled, we are going to combine chili cheesecake night with our previously scheduled Glow Night. Dress in your neon colors and be sure you get a glowstick for the evening!
Make sure to pack your pass. Passes are required to enter the gates at the ski area. If they forget their pass or lose it, then they will need to come to the inside ticket windows and pay a $5.00 reprint fee for their new card. There is a one time oops!
Be sure you are attending your lesson this week! It is important that you arrive for your lesson at least 10 minutes early. 5:50, 6:50, etc. There will be a sign in for each member to initial. If your instructor doesn’t show it, ask for it.
Wear face masks and goggles if you have them! The club has a few you can sign out to borrow. They will be in the East Lodge. We need your name, what bus you rode down on, and a cell #. This is a first come, first serve. Do not plan on them if you have goggles or are able to pick some up.
With Chili and Cheesecake night, we will have very limited space inside the lodge, so we cannot store bags, shoes, etc. The tables we use should be for all members to take a break, eat, etc. They are not for all of their belongings. Please leave as much on the bus or rent a locker. Clean up after yourself!
Come off the hill at 10:30pm, return your equipment, grab your belongings, eat a snack if you’re hungry, use the restroom (the bus ride is over an hour!), and head toward the buses. If you have your own equipment, be sure to get it to the trailer before getting on the bus. Buses will start loading at 10:50pm and we pull out NO LATER THAN 11:15 pm.
Code of Conduct: https://perfectnorth.com/code-of-conduct/ Please take a moment to review Perfect North’s up-to-date code of conduct. Conduct deemed by PNS staff to be inappropriate for the good order of the ski area, guests, or staff, and which may adversely affect the safety of others is not permitted. A pass, card, ticket, or participation may be revoked, suspended, voided, or denied for violating the Code of Conduct, without refund.
If you have your own equipment, it is your responsibility to load it.
In the event of Inclement Weather:
We are looking at potential snow from Thursday night into Friday morning. This is typically great news, but if school ends up being canceled so will the ski club. If we have a 2-hour delay, our trip to PN will not be affected. In the event Friday is canceled, we will be meeting to discuss a potential makeup trip in February. More information about this to come. Let's just all hope snow does not affect our trip on Friday.
If Chili night is canceled we ask that you freeze any food then reheat it next Friday. As long as it is mostly dethawed, we can plug in the crockpots at PN once we arrive around 10:30 am. Or have dinner for your family and try it again next week! Thanks for your understanding and flexibility!
Think Snow!
Dear CMS Ski and Rider Members,
IMPORTANT: Chili and Cheesecake Night is this week!! – We will stay 1 hour later this week!
All chili cheesecake items should be dropped off at Watts Middle School on Friday the 19th by 9:15 a.m. If someone has NON-PERISHABLE items they can be dropped off at the south or north location this week (15th-18th). You can find the addresses at the top of the Sign Up Genius. We appreciate all of your kind donations!
We are truly grateful that so many of you have signed up to provide food, drinks, and extras for our annual Chili and Cheesecake Night! This night is always so successful because of the generosity of the parents of our members. If you haven’t yet decided what to donate click on the link to see what we need. There are plenty of opportunities to help: sending in or dropping off items, helping to transport items, helping set up, serve and clean up then helping to transport back to Watts for parents to pick up their crockpots. Please sign up today to help, thank you!

One important thing to note is that all members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves in the Watts cafeteria, on the bus, and at PN. It is important that we are not adding additional work to custodians, bus drivers, chaperones and PN staff. Please be conscious of this going forward!
Loading went fairly smoothly our first night. We had a couple of stragglers, but we ended up leaving around 10 p.m..
REMINDER THAT THIS WEEK WE EXTEND OUR TIME AN HOUR. This week we will leave PN no later than 11:15 to make it to Watts by 12:30. Next week, we will be back to our regular schedule.
It is important to note that kids should leave their bookbags on the bus and not bring them into the East Lodge.
We will Glow in the Snow this week since last week’s trip was cancelled. Please wear fluorescent accessories so we can brighten up the slopes! Neon attire is not required but very welcome. The club will provide a glow stick for you that will be given to you on the bus. Non-bus riders can visit the table in the East Lodge for a glowstick. These are for club members only.
Reminders:
4. Come off the hill at 10:30pm , return your equipment, grab your belongings, eat a snack if you’re hungry, use the restroom(the bus ride is over an hour!), and head toward the buses. If you have your own equipment, be sure to get it to the trailer before getting on the bus. Buses will start loading at 10:50 pm and we pull out NO LATER THAN 11:15 pm.
We hope that your child came home telling you about their new adventures and friends. We saw many new friendships take shape and kids do things on their own that they never did before. This club fosters way more than just the sport; this helps establish independence and build self-esteem. We hope you will also see the transformation by the end of our season.

Good Evening Ski Club!
Due to the weather and slope conditions, we have decided it is in the best interest of the members of the club to NOT go to Perfect North tomorrow, 1/12/2024. A lot of consideration went into this decision. This was a collaborative decision based on the minimal open terrain at Perfect North in combination with forecasted rain. In watching the Slope Cam’s we fear that many students could get hurt with how little snow Perfect North has been able to keep on the slopes due to warm temperatures and rain.
Here are some answers to some of the questions that may arise from this decision:
What can I do with my 5th PN pass?
You still have access to a 5th Friday night at Perfect North. This can be used this Friday (if you choose). You would need to supply your own transportation. You may want to save your pass and use it on a Friday after our ski season concludes. Many students like to go skiing on the Friday of President’s Day Weekend when we do not have school. Just make sure to use it on a Friday.
Will I still get 4 lessons?
Yes! We have confirmed with Perfect North that the remaining 3 lessons will take place on January 19, January 26, and February 2.
Chili Cheesecake Night -
Just a friendly reminder, our Chili Cheesecake night is one week away. This is the club's biggest event of the season, and its success depends on everyone's participation. There are still many slots available for Chili, side dishes, drinks, and other items.
If you have already signed up THANK YOU! If you have yet to sign up, please take the time to click on the link below to see where you can contribute.

We appreciate all of your support and contributions. This night would not be possible without all of you!
Additional information regarding next Friday’s trip to Perfect North will be sent out in our Monday Newsletter.
Just to reiterate, our trip to Perfect North tomorrow (Friday, January 12th) is officially CANCELED.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Brad (brad.combs@centerville.k12.oh.us) or Jaclyn (jaclyn.schick@centerville.k12.oh.us)

What a great start to the 2024 year! The weather ended up working out and many of the lifts were up and running. Unfortunately, there was much confusion regarding lessons on Friday. Our club was told there would be introductory lessons and refreshers for all skiers and boarders but many of our kids were turned away when they asked about lessons. We were able to fix this issue as early as we possibly could. Please know that lessons will be good to go next week. It is important that everyone attends lessons this upcoming week and is not discouraged from the latest experience. There will be a sign in process this year. All members will be asked to sign the roster when showing up for lessons. PN will keep track and report back to us each week. Remember we are a learning club and everyone can learn something! If you are part of the race team you should have received an email from PN explaining where and when to be there Friday. If you did not hear from PN please reach out and we will find out.
Other than lessons, everything else went fairly smoothly from lift tickets to rentals to eating, visiting, and getting out one more time before it was time to load the buses. There were a few who did not find the East lodge, next week we are confident they will. When looking at PN from the parking lot it is to the far left of the building by the deck with the firepits. We hope some new friendships were created and existing friend groups are expanding. We want everyone to feel included and have a great time. We encourage all club members to find a buddy and include others into their existing group. We want everyone to have fun and feel included each week.
One important thing to note is that all members are responsible for cleaning up after themselves in the Watts cafeteria, on the bus, and at PN. It is important that we are not adding additional work to custodians, bus drivers, chaperones and PN staff. Please be conscious of this going forward!
Loading went fairly smoothly, we had a couple of stragglers, but we ended up leaving around 10 p.m.. We HAVE to leave PN no later than 10:15 to make it to Watts by 11:30.
Next week the buses will pull up at 9:45. Remind your child of this. Loading will be 9:45-10pm.
It is important to note that kids should leave their bookbags on the bus and not bring them into the East Lodge.
We had volunteers claim tables in the East Lodge on Friday. These tables will always be clearly marked with black/yellow tablecloths, our club sign, and typically a few chaperones. If you do not know where the East Lodge is, please be sure you ask someone (a bus chaperone, PN employee) to point you in the right direction..We are always looking for volunteers to claim the tables for us; this is a very important piece in our night, having a meeting place. If you can do this, please contact Brad or Julie to make arrangements to pick up the signs and tablecloths prior to Friday if needed.
Our winners of “SIGN the SIGN” are – Jaxson Taylor, Kara Sobecki, Lillian Singer, Xander Probert, Addison Michael, & Charlie Bentleyl! Congratulations!!! We hope you enjoy your prize!
Our fun event planned for next week is: Glow in the Snow. Wear your best fluorescent accessories so we can brighten up the slopes! Neon attire is not required but very welcome. The club will provide a glow stick for you that will be given to you on the bus. Non-bus riders can visit the table in the East Lodge for a glowstick. These are for club members only.

Dear CMS Ski and Rider Club,
Get your things ready! We are heading to Perfect North tomorrow January 5th! You will need a coat, gloves, hat, ski pants, ski pass, credit card/debit card to eat and to buy a locker to put your shoes/items in, PN is cashless!
The pass you picked up at the meeting is your lift ticket and debit card if you purchased one. Your rental information and lesson information is all on that one card. Please keep it in the arm band we gave to you because you will need to wear it on your arm and have it visible at all times. This is your pass for life! If you lose it it will cost you $5 each time to replace it. PN will give you a one time oops at no charge.
Tomorrow we will travel to PN on our first night of skiing/boarding as a club. Our motto has always been to go as long as PN is open and we have school, both will happen tomorrow. The weather has been warm, but will finally be a little cooler tomorrow night. Not many hills are open at PN and the runs are thin. BEGINNERS should NOT be on any hills that require a chair lift this week. If you are an intermediate skier or advanced stay aware of dry patches, stay on the hills you are familiar with and stay aware of your surroundings and terrain at all times. SAFETY FIRST!
On our website there is some informative articles on the club information page, check them out: https://bestskiandriderclub.com/first-night-information. Please re-read the skiers responsibility code and come ready to learn and have fun!
Our parent chaperones and PN staff will be at PN helping out where needed, please ask for help if you need it. Help one another if you can. We are all in this together and everyone wants to have fun! By the third week our members are out to lessons in record time!
NEW THIS YEAR- Once we unload, head down the steps to get fitted for your helmet and find your boot size. If you are skiing they are in the room right past the helmets. Sizes are unisex and whole sizes only. If you are snowboarding make your way to the room on the other side of the ski boots. The sign says SNOWBOARDS.
Get your equipment then head out the doors and go right. Follow the signs to LESSONS
ALSO NEW THIS YEAR-
This year PN will be holding lessons differently on our first night down Jan. 5th. We will not need to rush out to lessons by 6pm or hang out till 7pm for the next session. They will be ready for us in the lesson area all night!
IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE SPORT OR BEGINNER- once you get your boots on simply carry your skis or board to the lesson area if you are unaware how to put them on and the instructors will help you get up and ready to learn. They will help you navigate through the area, helping you to stop/turn . FEEL FREE TO HANG OUT IN THIS AREA ALL NIGHT working on stopping and turning. NO BEGINNER SHOULD ATTEMPT THE CHAIRLIFT! Next week when you go to a more organized lesson you will be ready for the next step! This new way of starting out will help in the weeks to come. Please ask for help, they are there to help you get better.
IF YOU ARE A RETURNING MEMBER OR AN INTERMEDIATE SKIER/RIDER, simply make your way over to the lesson area and practice what you learned last year. It's been a while and you might need to relearn a few things. The instructors will be at various stations in the lesson are to help you in anyway. Please ask for help if you need it! That is their job and they want to help make you better at snow sports! Stay awhile and warm up before hitting the slopes. Feel free to hang out all night practicing. The slopes are thin and not all are open. Please use this time wisely, this is our first night down and we do not want anyone getting hurt the first night! Or any night! We have 4 more weeks to venture out.
IF YOU ARE AN EXPERT, please visit the lesson area to warm up and work on some moves before hitting the slopes.
The race team will meet next week. You should receive an email from PN with details.
Being the first night and having around 70 of our members being their first time it will be a little crazy. Please encourage your child to ask for help if they need it. We can't help if we don't know they need it. The first night is a lot to take in but hang in there, it does get easier and everyone slides right into it.
The weather will be around 32 degrees the entire time we are at PN. It will get warm when moving around with all your winter gear on.Dress in layers and if you get overheated put any extra clothes in your locker( not your coat but maybe your sweatshirt : )
Make your way to the East lodge during the night to “sign the sign.” Say hi to the chaperones and tell them thank you! Also, tell your bus chaperones we appreciate them helping out!
Prizes will be given to 4 lucky winners who sign the sign! Maybe it will be you!
If you have your own equipment be sure it is at Watts by 3:30. There is a room behind Mrs. Deaton (secretary) to put them. It is your child's responsibility to get them and load them in the trailer both at Watts and at PN.
Remind them to go straight to the trailer to retrieve their equipment then head to lessons. If waiting for a friend they could take their equipment to the back deck or under the deck then go back to the rental area to help out. Then head over to lessons together.
Chaperones who are riding the bus will meet Mr. Combs in the lobby by the front desk at 3:45. Everyone who is riding the bus should have received a checklist of what duties will need preformed.
If you did not pick up your child's pass at the meeting or make arrangements to get it please have your child meet Mrs. Ashley by the office at Watts after school. If you miss her there then find her by the trailer once we arrive at PN. If you miss her in both of those places you can find our tables in the East lodge and someone there will help you find her.
Please be at Watt's by 11:20 pm to pick up your child(ren). We love what we do but we are eager to get home after a very long day.
Coming Up:
Ski Club Families, as you know we will be having our Chili Cheesecake night on Friday, January 19th from 6:00 to 11:00pm. CMS Ski and Rider Club
Dear CMS Skiers and Boarders,
Happy New Year! Hoping everyone had a wonderful holiday season with friends and family.
This Friday, January 5th will be our first official trip down to PN. Please read the newsletter that came out after the meeting (sent on December 11th) and visit our website www.bestskiandriderclub.com for more detailed information about what to expect and how to get ready for our Friday nights at PN. If you have questions please reach out!
We are excited to say that even with this warm spell, PN has been hard at work making snow and hopes to have most of their terrain open by the 5th. Unfortunately, PN notified us over the weekend letting us know only 1/2 the terrain is open and the runs are thin. We will be in contact with PN and make the best call for Friday night we can and make an announcement on Thursday night by 9pm. Watch for the newsletter so you know if we are going or if we decided to cancel.
->**Important Information:**<-
PASSES- If you did not make arrangements to pick up your pass after our meeting on Dec.7th and would like to have it prior to this Friday’s trip, please contact julie.ashley@bestskiandriderclub.com to set up a time to get it. Otherwise, Mrs. Ashley will have it on Friday. If you see her at Watts you can get it there otherwise she will be at the trailer after we arrive at PN. Stop and get it from her then.
LOCKERS- From PN-
The silver lockers are marked $12, but are $8 Monday through Friday for the 5 weeks of clubs. If the Club members need assistance please request help at the tech bench, they can help accommodate kids who do not have a credit card to pay for the $8 electronic lockers. This is done through the tech bench in the snowboard boot area, and they can use a PNS debit card for the purchase with a credit card, they can get any electronic locker and they’ll have a code that allows them access all day. And they can do that from the locker kiosks or from a cell phone connection after scanning a QR code on the door of the locker. We recommend having them share a locker between 2 and 4 people.
Same with the silver ones if they get a key, they can access it all night. But we’ll be selling ‘electronic locker vouchers’ from the tech bench for those with debit cards that gives them access to a locker rental where they can choose their own PIN and use it all night. The silver ones really will only come into play if we sell out of the electronic ones (I’m not expecting that), or if they want the larger size.
**VOLUNTEERS-**
The following people will be chaperoning this upcoming Friday, January 5th. If you are a bus chaperone, please be sure you are at Watts by 3:45 p.m. We will talk about responsibilities in Morgan Wolfe's room near the office. Feel free to read through the documents attached to the ParentSquare sign-up prior to Friday.

CMS Ski and Rider Club
Dear CMS Ski and Rider Club Members,
Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us at Magsig for our final meeting of the year last Thursday night. The fun part begins Friday, January 5th!! A HUGE THANK YOU to the volunteers who stepped up to help make the pass pickup process a quick one. We could not have done it without you all!
The powerpoint was used as a guide and there was more detailed information given at the meeting. Remember skiing/boarding is a risky sport and we expect every child to be in lessons the 3 nights they are provided. Those who are more experienced should go on hills that the less experienced member can do if skiing/boarding together. NO ONE should go on hills they are not ready for. Please remember if you find yourself in a scary situation, going too fast, etc JUST SIT DOWN on your skis or board and move to the edge of the hill out of the path of others. Calm down and proceed down on equipment or carry it and walk down. Stay on the edge out of the path for everyone's safety.
Please review- Getting Ready for Friday Night

Pass Pick Up- If you were unable to pick up your pass please email julie.ashley@bestskiandriderclub.com to make arrangements to get it and confirm she has it. Some members ordered their passes off the Friends and Family site and those will be mailed to you as well as any PN Debit cards. PN is aware it is taking a long time to reach you. If you bought a OAW or GOLD pass and haven't received it simply get a reprinted one at PN your first time down. You can enjoy the snow as soon as PN opens! Any passes that are not picked up prior to Jan. 5th can be picked up at Watts from Mrs. Ashley before we head out or once we arrive at PN. The passes are purposefully put in upside down so our logo does not interfere with the lift readers. Please make sure you put it on your coat that way, so the opening in the back is facing up (preventing them from falling out).
Sweatshirt Pickup- If you ordered a sweatshirt you can pick it up along with your pass by contacting Jackey Scott at jackey.scott@centerville.k12.oh.us. They will need to be picked up this week! There are just a few sweatshirts still available if you are interested in purchasing one. They are $40. Contact Ms. Scott for sizes and pick-up arrangements.
Volunteers- If you are interested in chaperoning, please sign-up through ParentSquare. Once you have signed-up to chaperone, you must have a valid background check through Centerville City Schools. These are valid for two years. Please follow the directions below:
Here is the link to the academic volunteer website: https://www.centerville.k12.oh.us/community/avp
Disregard Step #1.
For Step #2, click on the SecureVolunteer-BIB link. This will take you to the BIB website where you will register for a background check as a CHAPERONE.
Once you fill out the form on the BIB website, email Mary Harrison (mary.harrison@centerville.k12.oh.us) to notify her that you have signed up to be a chaperone for ski club.
Chili and Cheesecake Night- Those of you who stepped up- Tracy Martin will reach out to you and set up a meeting to go over what is needed to host this awesome night Jan. 19th. Look for an email soon. Thank you again for helping keep this tradition going strong.

Dear CMS Ski and Rider Club Members,
It was a busy weekend for PN! The servers crashed numerous times and I heard from many members how difficult it was to order ski passes. I hope everyone was finally successful. Some had issues adding lessons.
With this craziness, PN has decided to extend the discount of 30% until November 10! Yay! If you forgot to buy the pass, there are about 25 of you, you have until this Friday! If you have issues please call PN 812-584-2106 between 9:30-4:30. PN is willing to help you through the process.
Basketball people this is great news for you! Please contact morgan.ayers@centerville.k12.oh.us and let her know if your child is joining us this season or playing a sport so we can deposit or destroy your check.
Failure to notify us may result in your check being deposited without refund.
If you did not add lessons please do that this week.
Take advantage of the bonus debit cards too!
If you received an email from us requesting missing paperwork, dues, etc. please submit these items today! Drop off at Watts. We are trying very hard to finalize our roster and move on.

Please mark your calendars for Dec. 7th at 7 pm in Magsig auditorium. We will need more than 5 volunteers if we want to have a smooth and successful meeting. Watch for the request in the newsletters towards the end of November.

NO PAPERWORK- NO BUS. At that time your child could lose their spot on the bus. Please turn these into your child's office in an envelope marked SKI CLUB attn Mrs. Wolfe
If your child is trying out for a winter sport -basketball, volleyball, dance, hockey, etc, please turn in the necessary items and put a note on them so we will set them aside and will wait to hear from you. Please note that ALL PN passes will need to be purchased by Nov 3th. Prices will jump 10% on Nov 6th, and PN will not refund any pass; unless you notified us of your child's tryout. PN has requested a list of those members. If your child makes the team and WILL NOT be joining us on the slopes PN WILL REFUND your pass for a fee of $15.
Pay To Play will be collected on HAC this year. Once our roster is complete we will turn it over to the secretaries then you will be billed. We will notify you when to expect it, thank you for your patience while we navigate a new way to collect these.
